Went to college at Carleton in Northfield, MN. Did a term and a summer in France. Met Peter there and married him in Dec 1980. We moved to Chicago where he did law school and I did med school and public health school and residency in Ob/Gyn there. Moved to Pittsburgh in 1989 for Fellowship and stayed on as faculty at the University of Pgh. Research on racial disparity in birth outcome. Developed several community based satellite clinics and served on some local, state wide and national committees on addiction and maternal health. Dramatic change in life in 2005 with a head injury. Went to part time work and more teaching. Focus on health care in poor neighborhoods, trauma informed care. Very proud of our children. We lost our oldest in 2022 with Ehlers Danos Syndrome. Still miss her every day. She was brilliant, funny and kind. They are all nice people, have very strong senses of social justice and are trying to make the world a better place.
